The key challenges in test management include the following –
* Inadequate test planning
* Inadequate effort budgeted for testing
* Changing requirements and lack of change control
* Lack of traceability between requirements and test cases
* Lack of focus on testing process or ineffective testing process
* Lack of monitoring rigour or lack of metrics implementation in tracking testing progress
* Inadequate planning for required test data and environment
* Inadequate focus/lack of planning for automation, making test management time-consuming
* Absence of or poorly organised test organisation and team structure
* Inadequate testing skills in the team
* Lack of well-defined and agreed communication process
